  Is the earth flat? People figured out that it is not flat several thousand years ago, but those people and modern science are wrong. The earth is in fact a 3 dimensional trapezoid. And I can prove this.  The first proof that earth is a trapezoid is that Australia does not exist. People claiming to be from Australia are not actually there, they are actors paid by the FIA to live in Argentina. The FIA does this because they have time travel technology and now that in the bad timeline in the year 2278 Ferrari takes over the world. As punishment for the future actions of Ferrari the FIA decided to fake the existence of Australia and force all members of Ferrari to compete as the Australian Olympic team, while also living in Argentina, but not being paid to fake Australia.   There have been some rumours that the Daytona 500 will not be the first points race of the 2022 NASCAR cup series season. I don’t know what these rumours could mean. My first thought is that stage racing is ending at the end of this year and the 150 mile qualifying races for the 500 will pay points to everyone who competes in them as they did for the first decades of their existence. This does not seem likely as the stage breaks do allow  the networks to preplan commercial spots.  For years the first points race of the NASCAR season was at Riverside, California, a road course. We know that the track cannot be used again because it no longer exists it has been replaced by a housing development. Auto Club speedway in Fontana, California is going to be torn down and replaced by a half mile short track after its event in 2022.   Should NASCAR race in Indianapolis? Yes! Should NASCAR race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway? That is a much bigger question to answer. The first thing we have to think about is is NASCAR the sanctioning body of the sport of professional stock car racing in the United States? Or is it a body that does sports entertainment?  Sports entertainment is a term coined by WWE owner Vincent Kennedy McMahon, the WWE is extremely athletic and can cause real injuries, but all of the results are predetermined and it is put on as a show where the fans use a suspension of disbelief to enjoy it. That is not the only way to do sports entertainment. You can do this without needing to predetermine results, just simply manipulate events to provide more entertainment to your fans. Tony Stewart was once fined for comparing NASCAR to the WWE because of a debris caution he did not believe needed to exist.  Of course all sports have to entertain otherwise they would not have audiences, ...

  Over the course of my 27 years as a fan of motorsport I have seen a bit of everything. I’ve seen the triumphs like Dale Earnhardt finally winning the Daytona 500 in 1998, the tragedies of Dale Earnhardt and Dan Wheldon along with many others. I have also seen a piece of the track take out Jeff Gordon at Martinsville, the Daytona 500 have a several hour long red flag period because the track fell apart and had to be patched. And of course as we all have I have seen a jet dryer explode because a broken car hit it. Despite all of those things the strangest thing I have ever seen live in motorsports was this weekend’s cup series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix circuit. And yes it even tops the nonsense that was Indycar at the Nashville street circuit a week prior.  I wasn’t alive for Davey Allison winning The Winston in 1992 and the sanctioning body forcing the team to take victory lane photos without knowing if the driver was alive or dead, but I do think t...

  Formula E is weird. I like watching it but I just think it is the weirdest form of motorsport to ever exist. There is one area where it deserves high praise it has existed for 7 seasons and not a single driver has ever lost their life at one of the events they have run. I like the idea of an electric racing series and it will certainly help to build up technology for road cars. After reading some of the technical regulations for the third generation car I am very excited about the idea of a fast charger for both the racing series and road cars.  This racing series has the second most gimmicks of any series on the planet, trailing only NASCAR in that regard. There are some of them that I like and some I think are just silly. I don’t like the idea of a timed race. I think all racing series that are not endurance races should be contested for a set number of laps.   Will Max Verstappen ever win a World Championship?  No. Max Verstappen is a very talented Formula 1 Driver, but he has a lot of flaws and because of these flaws he will never win the World Drivers Championship. In addition to these flaws there are two other factors working against him. The first is the pressure that he is under because of his father Jos Verstappen trying to live through his son and get the success he never could in Formula 1.  The second issue is that Red Bull racing is a toxic team, up until this year I thought Ferrari was the most toxic team in the history of Formula 1. I was proven wrong by the events of the 2021 season, Red Bull is a toxic Formula 1 team and Ferrari is just a cult that happens to race cars.  The team bosses at Red Bull Helmut Marko and Christian Horner believe Max to be the most talented driver in the history of the sport, and they believe that focusing entirely on him will allow Max to win the drivers title and they mi...
