Max Verstappen Can Never Win a Championship

 Will Max Verstappen ever win a World Championship? 

No.

Max Verstappen is a very talented Formula 1 Driver, but he has a lot of flaws and because of these flaws he will never win the World Drivers Championship. In addition to these flaws there are two other factors working against him. The first is the pressure that he is under because of his father Jos Verstappen trying to live through his son and get the success he never could in Formula 1. 

The second issue is that Red Bull racing is a toxic team, up until this year I thought Ferrari was the most toxic team in the history of Formula 1. I was proven wrong by the events of the 2021 season, Red Bull is a toxic Formula 1 team and Ferrari is just a cult that happens to race cars. 

The team bosses at Red Bull Helmut Marko and Christian Horner believe Max to be the most talented driver in the history of the sport, and they believe that focusing entirely on him will allow Max to win the drivers title and they might win a constructors title at some point if something like 2020 happens again. Lewis Hamilton outscored Red Bull by himself. 

It is very unlikely for a single driver to outscore the second place team in the constructors and Max is not a driver that would be capable of that. 

Since Max made his debut in the Red Bull at the 2016 Spanish Grandprix he has been through a number of teammates and people often call him a teammate killer. This is not entirely accurate. The team bosses have as much a hand in the teammates poor performance as Max’s dominance does in making it look worse than it actually is. This season he is racing with teammate Sergio Perez, Perez has won a race this season in a car that as of right now is 28 races behind in terms of upgrades. That is over a season worth of upgrades that the second driver does not have access to. Any driver with a two year old car is going to look like they are a lot weaker than their teammate. Perez is a talented driver, Alex Albon, the teammate of Max one year ago has enough talent to race in F1 but does not have the talent to challenge Max even in an equal car. 

At the beginning of the 2021 season Max and Lewis Hamitlon were tied in career DNFs. Hamilton has finished every race this year, Max has failed to finish twice. The first race was due to no fault of his own with a tire failure at the Baku street circuit. At Silverstone on the first lap Hamilton and Verstappen collided in turn 9 sending Max into the wall for an impact with over 50gs of force. The FIA ruled that this accident was mostly the fault of Hamilton. If that had been an incident looked at only by itself it would have fully been the fault of the seven time champion.

Max has over the course of his career made it clear that the other driver will either back out of a tight spot or there will be a collision. Often especially during the early parts of his career driving without respect for the life or limb of the other competitors on the track. The only reason Max has not been involved in a fatal accident is because of the amazing safety equipment that motor racing has developed over the course of the last 100 years. 

The combination of Max having a lack of respect for the sport her partakes in and the team he drives for being one of the most toxic organizations in all of the world means that he will never win the world championship of F1. He has the talent to win the championship, but he does not have the patience to win one.
